AI Nursing Student Starter Kit
In the spring of 2025, there was an Instagram trend of asking AI to make personal starter kits. This was my personal rendition of me and my nursing gear. Before starting clinical, my parents gifted me a bag, similar to the one in the kit.

My Workspace
This little nook is my cozy albeit slightly cluttered workspace that has been the center of many nursing assignments through this educational journey. Pictured are photos of my friends and family, along with flowers from my partner. Not pictured are my framed degrees on the left wall and a large 4 month at-a-glance whiteboard calendar.

Ostomy Care Webinar with Friends
Through my final clinical placement, a friend and classmate kindly invited me and another classmate who commutes to stay with her and her family in Peterborough between shifts. This kindness has lifted a huge burden and created a fun and connected experience on clinical days. Following a shift we attending a webinar on Ostomy care that the Clinical Course Coordinator invited the class to. We attended together, from a sushi restaurant, that we biked to after shift. This experience was not one that would have "been on my bingo card" as they say, however enriched my experience as a student, learning about ostomy care, sharing a meal and moving my body (biking home).

RNAO 100th AGM
I attended the RNAO 100th AGM. In the picture below, I am with Dr. Doris Grinspun, Dr. Karima Velji and fellow students who attended the Board of Directors Student Placement. This was a valuable and pivotal experience in my nursing education, where I connected with nursing leaders and students inspired to make change as advocates. I was able to peak into both the history and future of the field of nursing through the experience at this conference.

My Wheels
I come from an automotive family, my grandfather working at General Motors in Oshawa for over 40 years. My mother has also spent her career in the auto industry. As a result, I have had the privilege of having safe and reliable transportation throughout my time as a commuter student, travelling over an hour each way to campus. My vehicle has become a sanctuary of sunrise mornings, country music afternoons and post shift reflections. When I worked as a Camp Director at the YMCA, my camp name was "Wheelz", a nod to my affinity for all things on wheels.

CNSA 2026
A connection I made at the RNAO AGM encouraged me to attend the CNSA conference in Saskatoon as the Official Delegate from Trent University. Through this conference experience, I was able to see a student led organization thrive, connect with incredibly engaged and motivated nursing students and advocate to leaders for the changes I feel are important to nursing students at Trent.
